Job Description:

The County of Bruce is accepting applications for Cook and Food Servie Workers at Gateway Haven Long-Term Care Home in Wiarton, ON.  Reporting to the Dietary Services Manager, this position is key to the facility, preparing and serving meals to the residents of the Home in a pleasant and respectful manner.

The Cook wage starts at $24.81 per hour and Food Service Worker wage starts at $23.64, with percentage in lieu of benefits and vacation.  Weekend and shift work is required.

The successful candidate will be genuinely interested in caring for the elderly, in good physical condition (able to lift up to forty pounds), and be able to work independently when required.

Minimum Requirements / Work Experience:

Cook Qualifications: ·Ontario Certificate for Cook Level II OR Culinary Management diploma or certificate or equivalent ·Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent ·Safe Food Handling Certificate required ·Mature and reliable, with ability to accept leadership responsibilities when necessary ·Able to work well without direct supervision ·Able to do some heavy lifting Food Service Worker Qualifications: Completion of or current enrollment in the Food Service Worker program required Safe Food Handling Certificate an asset Grade 12

Other Job Requirements:

Assets: · Experience in a long-term care setting · Previous institutional and quantity food production experience
